The Polar Express

Thanks to Grammie Blackner we all enjoyed (Baughman and Wirthlin family minus John - he still wasn't in town) a fun trip on the Polar Express. It was a great way to get in the spirit of the season. We sang carols, read the story book of the "Polar Express," heard elf jokes, had hot cocoa and cookies, and just enjoyed being together.

The funniest part about the trip... we almost missed the train! You can imagine getting 5 small children out the door isn't always without its hiccups... and just as we were pulling up to the train station we heard the announcer call - "Final Boarding Call for the Polar Express!" WHAT?!?!?! Becca ran for the tickets at will call and Justin and I began throwing kids out of the car as fast as we could... who began slipping and sliding all of the parking lot (it was icy). Justin (he is such a quick thinker) quickly parked on the sidewalk, which is the best parking spot ever, and jumped aboard. We had made it! And a good thing too, the kids had a blast! Definitely an experience we will all remember :).

Posing with Santa - the kids weren't quite sure what he was doing back there :)

Abby and Dallin -
So excited about their special bells and the secret cookie recipe from Mrs. Claus

Thanks Grammie! We had a great time!
