First Day of Kindergarten

It's official... Abigail is a kindergartner!!
Can you believe it?? I can't! Abby was so excited to start school this morning... much more excited than Mom. But after a few tearful moments, seeing the excitement in her eyes.... I guess I was ready. She loves her teacher and her classmates. Her only complaint was having to wait so long for Mom to pick her up. Hopefully I can figure out a better "pick-up" routine soon.
I think we are off to good start on this new adventure.

Our Utah Adventure: Part 2 - Grammie and Papi's in Salt Lake

Another Long Post

The timing of this trip couldn't have been any better... Becca was having her baby and Grammie and Papi Wirthlin were coming home from their mission in the same week! Perfect timing for our visit!

Although the time was short in Salt Lake with the Wirthlins... it was well worth the effort. It was wonderful to see family and spend time with Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dallin has told me that we need to "go live by cousins! Why did we come to this house? I want to be by my Grammies and Papas." We feel the same :).

Grammie and Papi Wirthlin with the kids

Having a blast in the pool.

I don't know if you can really tell what is going on in this picture or not... Abby is swimming to John while Dallin is jumping over her at the same time. What he calls "jumping" is more like diving head first to me. :)

We were having such a great time in the pool... and then, or course, our adventurous Dallin cut open his chin by jumping backwards into the pool... OUCH! He was amazingly tough though.... when he came up he was holding his chin,... I looked at it.... realized there was a gash... called John and Dallin immediately said, "It's okay, Dad." Needless to say it wasn't exactly okay... it looked like it would need a few stitches. So, off to the emergency clinic we went. Luckily they only put some DermaBond on it... we are hoping it heals up okay soon.
After the days trauma... Dad headed for his hammock :).
Swinging in the Woods
Can't you just feel the love?
Grammie Wirthlin has this great bowl with polished rock eggs in it... Connor was definitely a fan.

Not too happy that brother is trying to get in on the action.
Racing cars and Hanging Out
Go, Speedy Crawler!
A little Sunday Drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon.

We ended the day (Sunday) up at Aunt Carolyn's for a family dinner and celebration for John graduating Dental School. She was too sweet to go to all the effort - Our special presentation, yummy food, awesome decor... everything was wonderful. But more importantly it was great to be with family. We sure to miss these guys.

Dinner preparations... don't those steaks look great!

Maryann and Jeralie - Mother and Daughter
Do you think they are related?? :)

Morgan and Connor

One happy kid ... headed to the airport with a car full of balloons :).

We are so grateful for everyone's efforts to get together again for our sake... especially after such a long flight home and vacation in Hawaii.

Thanks to Jeralie and Richard (Grammie and Papi) for allowing us to invade on their homecoming peace and quiet. We loved seeing you and spending time together. We can't wait for Christmas... to be together again.

Our Utah Adventure: Part 1 - Auntie Becca's House

WARNING: The following Post is LONG... read at your own risk :).

We were so excited to go to Utah this past week and celebrate the arrival of the newest member of our extended family (Becca and Justin's baby):

The cute little family

Isn't he precious??

Becca and Justin really were troopers to let us stay with them. Four additional visitors (Five if you count Grammie) doesn't exactly make for a peaceful house when you bring home a new baby, but I think we were good kid entertainment for Mylie. We had a blast spending time with them and with the Grandparents. From sun up to sun down, it was non-stop fun!

Jumping and Duck-Duck-Goose on the Trampoline with Grammie

Even Connor loved to jump!

Crack the egg!

How many buttom-busters can you do? Abby made it to 18 (I think).

Mylie is a really good jumper... she really gets her knees up there :).

Trike Highway - the kids loved riding the trikes all over the house.

Even Papa was there for the delivery and for a couple days of fun with the kids.

This is pretty much all the smile I can get out of Dallin these days... CHEESE... Maybe action shots are the way to go for awhile.

Craft Time

Bath Time - isn't that fun?? A colored bath!

Movie Time

"Twinners"

The Dinosaur Museum - tons of fun!! We will definitely be going back at Christmas.

Lots of Picnics

Sidewalk Chalk Time

Pool Time

Nothing better than "Otter-pop" Time in the Summer.

Connor even loved pushing the trike all over the house.

But he thought he was in Heaven when Grammie gave him a ride.

"The Cousins" in their new PJs - thanks Grammie, these were a big hit!

Abby LOVED holding the baby - this is a typical photo of the two of them together - Abby and Luke.

"Mama and Baby"

We flew in Monday morning the kids and I and headed out Friday night with Dad (he flew in late that night)- just going North a little bit. It was a whirl-wind of a trip. Never a dull moment. Thank you so much Becca and Justin for sharing this special time with us. We love you guys! And thanks Grammie and Papa for always making the time with you special - the kids love being with you!
