Happy Valentine's Day!

Festivities began around our house early last week.  Tuesday we started by baking cookies and making valentines for Abby's preschool party on Wednesday. Her and Dallin were very proud of their cookies :).  Valentine's morning began early with our traditional heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whip cream.  Abby then hurried to a birthday party and the boys and I went to watch Daddy play some ward basketball.

After all that exciting fun... we decided to head out for some more family fun ... camping at Garner State Park.  I know.... some might think we are crazy... but we had a great time!
Walking and throwing rocks in the river, building a fire and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows to make smores, and getting up early to eat pancakes and eggs before hustling back to town for church.   It was  definitely a Valentine's day we will always remember.  And it was Connor's first camping trip! We all had a great time... we can't wait to go camping again.

Enjoying the Great Outdoors

Every February, it seems, this routine starts again.  Everyday around 3pm we head outside to play... and play until our Dad comes home from school.  The weather has been just perfect.  We couldn't ask for better.

Connor Eats Solid Food!

Hooray... the first step toward freedom (well feeding time freedom).  Connor wasn't too sure about eating his mush, but we convinced him he could do it.   The other two kids thought it was hilarious!  I just can't believe how big this little guy is getting.  Time sure does fly.  :)

Rodeo

We couldn't leave San Antonio without going to the Rodeo.  So last Saturday, Feb. 7th, we were lucky enough to get some tickets from some friends.  (Thanks, Jeannine).  We had a great time!!!  The kids loved watching the barrel racing, bull riding, bucking broncos and more.  We are so glad we were able to go this year.

We Love Texas Winters ...

Especially when you can still send children out to play.

Sleeping Beauty

Our Latest Challenge: Getting Abby Out of Bed.

Who knew this was going to be one of Abby's challenges.  She has always been such a cheerful riser and she has never slept in too much.  But lately I can't seem to get her to budge.  We are constantly late for our morning engagements (which are usually Abby's engagements).  But this little one just keeps saying ... "But... I was sleepy."   It might be time for the night light to go :).

Monday Night: Super Bowl Party

We decided to watch the Super bowl Monday night for FHE.  We had a great time.  John was able to come home early from school (which was so nice) -- and everyone helped to prepare the feast.  We made way too much food (7-layer bean dip, quesadillas, wings, queso, pico de gallo, and of course - treats) -- We were stuffed!!!  But we had a great night and really enjoyed watching the game together.

Letter O: Opposite Day at Preschool

Abby had to dress-up in opposites for preschool on Monday.  This is what she came up with...
Inside out skirt, right side out leggings, inside out pink shirt, right side out sweatshirt ... one "play" shoe and one "dress" shoe.... one plain sock and one ruffle sock.... one hand painted and one hand not... one side of her hair up and straight and the other side curly and down.
She was very proud of her opposites.  (and so was Dallin)  :)

I think the pictures speak for themselves :).

Tuesdays

We have really enjoyed having Abby in gymnastics.  She loves it ... and even Dallin loves watching.
