Happy Father's Day

I am so grateful for the "fathers" in my life - My grandfathers, father, husband, and father-in-law. I am truly blessed with amazing men and incredible examples of men that help me to more fully know the love of our Heavenly Father. Thank you. I hope you know how much we love and appreciate all of you.

Here are just a few pictures of our low-key Father's Day:

John reading Father's day books with the kids

Enjoying a yummy Father's day breakfast - The kids came up with the menu (with a little help from mom) - eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, fruit dip (of course), and strawberry and banana chocolate crepes.

Even Connor thought it was yummy.

We love you, John. Hope you had a wonderful Father's day... because you are a wonderful Father.

Surfside, TX

We are going strong with "family fun" here in Texas. After forgetting the camera on our Tuesday trip to the beach in Galveston, I was relieved I remembered it today. We decided to check out the "other beach" around here - Surfside. It is about the same distance from Pearland, but more south. It was definitely less crowded and less of a tourist destination. We enjoyed this quieter beach compared to that of Galveston. And the beach-combing here was great!! So here it is ... another day... more fun in Texas. (Sorry, it is long)

One happy little boy...
he was so excited to go to the beach he could hardly wait.

Connor... testing out the water. He loved it!

Tag! - Dad is great to play all day.

We couldn't keep Connor from eating the sand - He loved it!

Off to do more wave jumping with Dad

"Our Sea Turtle"
I was taking pictures of Connor and of the kids in the water, when all of a sudden I looked back over at Connor, and he was making a run for it - Straight to the water. His crawl reminded me of a little baby sea turtle hurrying to the ocean ... it was so cute.

You can't go to the beach without building a sand castle.

Saturday Night Fun

John was determined this week to find a "Drive-In." And sure enough - He did. It was about 45 minutes away... but it was well worth the drive. The kids were so excited! We popped our popcorn, got some movie treats and drinks, and loaded the car with blankets and pillows.

It was a double feature - Up and Night at the Museum 2. We thought for sure the kids would fall asleep during the second movie... not exactly. The boys (Dallin, Connor... and John) were asleep within the first 10 minutes of the second movie... but the girls (aka the "night owls") were strong and made it through both films. :) It was fun for everyone... we can't wait to see what is playing next week :).

Swim Lessons

A sweet lady in our ward is offering swim lessons for two weeks at a time.  We thought it would be a great experience for Abby and Dallin since we will be spending so much time at the pool this summer... and this Mom only has two arms and three kids.  So, if not anything else, if they fall in - they will be trained to turn around, grab the wall, and pull themselves out or just float. Both of the kids are loving it!  They are so excited to go to "Swim lessons" - especially Dallin.  And we were lucky enough to get a later spot (Abby's lesson is at 6:30 pm and Dallin is at 7 pm).  This way the sun isn't beating down on us, we don't have to worry about sunburns, and everyone is just comfortable instead of sweating to death :).

Connor enjoys just being outside and watching the kids in the water.
