Almost a Weekend at the Cabin

A bunch of us (families in the family) decided we would head up to the cabin for some weekend fun. After hauling everything up there in snowmobiles... we realized that not only was the cabin freezing cold, but it was also FROZEN.. pipes and all. Oh well, better luck next time :). But we did get some good sledding in while we were there :). Thanks to Carolyn and Brian the party was not stopped. We met back up at there place for some dinner and games. And they even let us spend the night :). What a great family :).
Thanks guys ... we had a great time being with you.

Christmas Day

Christmas Pj's

After the Christmas Eve festivities had died down and the family was gone and things had started to quiet down - it was time for Christmas Pj's.
Funny thing this year... I laid out the gifts with Connor on the floor and went off to grab the other two kids and their Dad. I returned to find Connor already digging/ripping into his present. It didn't take him long at all to figure out "this game" - take off the paper and there is something inside!

My Three Kiddos - Abigail, Dallin, and Connor - I just love these kids!

Christmas Eve

After a wonderful dinner, a beautiful program, and some yummy treats - we just spent time being together. What a fun Christmas Eve it was.

Christmas Eve: The Program

Christmas Eve was a beautiful evening. Family gathered together to celebrate the Birth of our Saviour. John's Mother put together a wonderful program that was enjoyed by all. Abigail participated this year as an angel. She and a couple of her cousins, Bella and Sarah, sang "Christmas Bells." It was a beautiful memory and a wonderful way to remember the true meaning of the season.

"The Three Wise Men"

Two Little Smiley Men - Andrew and Dallin - Getting comfy before the program begins.

"O Holy Night" -beautiful violin number by Alexa and Elisabeth

Josh and Jared - Show some Brotherly Love - a shepherd and Joseph

"Mary and Joseph"

Catherine and Rich a musical number on the guitar

"The Three Little Angels" - Abigail, Sarah, and Bella

Elizabeth on the Harp - so beautiful!

Snow Skiing Fun

It is official... we now have little "skiers."

While in Utah we picked up some used kid skis and John just couldn't wait to get them on the mountain. He waited for the perfect day.... which happened to be Christmas Eve. I could not go for the first trip, but John was determined to make it happen. So he took his kiddos to Alta - taught them some patterns in the snow with their boots and helped them get up and down the tow-rope for their FIRST ski experience. (Unless you count when we put Abigail in a front pack and skied with her down the mountain at 5 months old).

It was a very proud moment for John... a dream come true... his little ones on the mountain.

Later that week, both John and I took them both up again... this time to experience a real lift. Thank goodness Alta opens up a lift (Sunnyside) for free after 3 pm - a great opportunity to teach the kids.

All in all, the kids had fun. John and I got a serious workout from skiing two little ones down the hill, but by the end they were making progress. And most important - They LOVED it!

A Tradition

It was Abigail's first year being able to attend "A Christmas Carol." [You must be 5 years old to attend the show] She LOVED it! It was so fun to watch her enjoy the show from the edge of her seat. Priceless. She was little frightened by the Marley, but she loved the "angel ghost."

Thanks again Mom and Dad for another wonderful year at "A Christmas Carol."
