OREOS!!!!

Surprise... Surprise.. what kid doesn't love an Oreo.

Well, this little guy loved them a whole lot!

And... CORN on the COB!

Connor finally has enough teeth to handle some corn on the cob. He thought it was great that he could hold it all himself. With his first bite he was a little surprised that something actually came off of the "stick" ... and from then on through dinner he wouldn't let it go.

More like.... just what the rain brings... FROGS!

One night John was checking something in the back yard and there was a frog just sitting on the back porch. So, of course, John grabbed my rice container, emptied it out, and caught the frog for the kids to enjoy the next morning. They thought it was the best. And it was a good opportunity to talk about frogs.. where they live... what they eat... how the grow.. you get the idea. Anyway the kids love waking up to surprises that Daddy has left for them.

Here they are again... in the backyard... catching frogs with Dad. This time they even got to hold the little guy.

Homeschool Week #1

After much thought and prayer ... we decided to pull Abigail out of public school.

I have never thought of homeschool as an option for our kids, but after our experience with the elementary school here, we have decided this is what is best for our family right now.

So here are a few shots from "homeschool" this week:

Labor Day Weekend: Part 2: The Rays

We owe a lot to these two wonderful people!

The Rays were so good to us. Not only did they watch our kids for us so we could go to a great BYU game, they also entertained us for the rest of the weekend. We spent the rest of Sunday (going to church, hanging out and playing games) and most of Monday kicking it with the Rays. We tons of fun eating good food, playing some great competitive games :), and spending the afternoon at the Arboretum in Dallas (I think that is what is was called - it was lots of fun with all these storybook houses all over the grounds). Thanks Rays for showing us the sights of Dallas and Fort Worth and spending time with us... we loved seeing our friends. Can't wait to return the favor and have them come down to Houston.
