Homeschool Week #1
After much thought and prayer ... we decided to pull Abigail out of public school.
I have never thought of homeschool as an option for our kids, but after our experience with the elementary school here, we have decided this is what is best for our family right now.
So here are a few shots from "homeschool" this week:
Abby working on her lowercase letters with flashcards.
Working on assignments at the table.
Unit 1: Our Family Tree
Labor Day Weekend: Part 2: The Rays
We owe a lot to these two wonderful people!
The Rays were so good to us. Not only did they watch our kids for us so we could go to a great BYU game, they also entertained us for the rest of the weekend. We spent the rest of Sunday (going to church, hanging out and playing games) and most of Monday kicking it with the Rays. We tons of fun eating good food, playing some great competitive games :), and spending the afternoon at the Arboretum in Dallas (I think that is what is was called - it was lots of fun with all these storybook houses all over the grounds). Thanks Rays for showing us the sights of Dallas and Fort Worth and spending time with us... we loved seeing our friends. Can't wait to return the favor and have them come down to Houston.
Labor Day Weekend: Part 1: GO BYU!!!!!
How could we pass up the opportunity to watch BYU play in our very own state!?!?! We couldn't! So we made the drive up to Dallas for the Labor Day Weekend. We had a great time visiting with family and friends (The Rays, Konkles, and Rupps).
It was a weekend to remember :).
Our Saturday Field Trip before the game ... ice skating!
A little wobbly, but they both had a great time. And so did Mom and Dad :).
Even Connor was all smiles. (which was amazing, because he was sleep deprived and starving!)
THE GAME:
Thanks to the Rays (and the Konkles) for taking the kids!!!
Here is the new stadium where the victory took place:
Brian and his girls (well two of them):
Fun date night for us:
The morning after the game, we gathered for breakfast at the hotel for one last hurrah and good-byes. It was so fun to be with the family. We sure do love these guys!
The Gang (minus Richard) just after Breakfast... saying "good-bye."
