Morning Runs

The kids really are troopers. I have started running... yet again. And the kids are so good to just sit, entertain themselves, and sweat in the heat while Mom gets a "workout."

This is how we roll ...

And sometimes if Mom is feeling really nice, we run to the park so the kids can play and then run back home again.

This photo was taken by Abby... Her view of the run. :)

I think we are just about caught up with the blogging. Thank goodness!

The Houston Zoo

(Can you see how close that lion is??
The pictures of the lions were taken by Abby with no zoom. They were so close!)

This is how much Connor loved riding the Carousel .... not at all.

Riding the train ...
usually Dallin's favorite part. I later figured out he had a 103 degree fever. He was a trooper.

Luckily for us, the zoo is just a block from Daddy's school.
So we decided to pick him up for a picnic lunch in the park.

Here is the crazy squirrel that would not leave us alone. We didn't even feed it... it just knew it could get some food. It was a little creepy. It was probably 1-2 feet from us the entire lunch.

We loved the zoo... and loved having lunch with our Dad. We hope to do it again soon.

A Typical Morning ...

Playing on the floor in our pajamas.

These pictures were taken by Abigail Wirthlin.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the afternoon BBQ-ing with friends.
The kids had a blast running and playing outside in a little pool. They love having friends.
Thanks to the Curtis's for having us over... we had a great time.

After that we decided to head downtown to find some fireworks. We ended up parking next to John's school and going to an outdoor theater to catch the end of an outdoor symphony and see the fireworks.

(Sorry about the blur ... I still hadn't realized the camera's flash was broken)

Our Little Princess in her festive attire :) ...

The boys. ... so tired ... snuggling together ...

We thought the fireworks would start about the time it got dark....
sometime around 9:00pm - 9:15pm.... WRONG!
Here we are still waiting....

Finally the Fireworks started around 10:45pm!!!

The kids were so tired! As you can see, Dallin was not a fan! He kept his eyes shut the entire time. And Connor didn't like them too much either. He buried himself into his Daddy's chest. Abby thought they were great... so I guess the trip was worth it :).

It was a long night full of adventures. We had a great 4th of July! Hope you did too!

Another Friday Night Drive-In

John really wanted to get a front row seat... so we got there early... ate pizza in the car waiting for the gates to open .. and he was so excited when we pulled into the FRONT ROW!!!

Playing Games while we wait for it to get dark ...

Daddy and Dallin playing ball ...

The photographer of the evening...

Still waiting for it to get dark ...

Mommy and Connor ...

The Photographer ... (Don't know why this picture was turned... oh well)

Getting closer ....

We had another great Friday night at the Drive-In. We decided to only stay for the first movie this time... because the movie starts so late. But we loved every minute.

The Day My Camera Broke

The Rascals....

Jumping and playing hard.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised... when you lay on the floor to get action shots... something is bound to go wrong. Dallin just happened to jump right on me and the camera... breaking the flash. So sad. I am still awaiting the news for repairs from Nikon... it is taking forever!!!

Meanwhile, Connor just sat and played with his ball. I love this stage :).

This was a little early that day.... I love it when they find "the baby" in the appliances.

Tub Time

Connor has a new playpen while I get ready for the day ... the bathtub. It is fabulous!

Thanks Grammie for the tip (She gave me this one when Abby was a baby).

In Loving Memory

Brooke Baldwin
February 9, 1985 - June 24, 2009

My dear cousin Brooke passed away June 24, 2009 as a result of a tragic car accident in Utah. Brooke was a sweet girl with a fun and loving spirit. She will be missed by many. At this time we are so grateful for the knowledge that we have of eternal life. We will see Brooke again. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family. I thought it was fitting as I checked the Church website this morning to find this new video.

Concert in the Park

Friday Night: Concert in the Park

Pearland Parks and Recreation offers a free concert series during June. We wish we would have gone out sooner, but we did make it for the last night. We popped some popcorn, grabbed our swimsuits, a blanket, and headed to the park. The kids loved dancing to the music, getting free ice-cream, and playing in the Splash Pad.

It was a great night... not too hot... with smiles all around. It doesn't get any better.
